Packaging for Wholesale and Private Label Programs
Bathrobe packaging must match the product, sales channel and shipping method. Robenexa supports individual packing and export-carton preparation for hotel suppliers, importers, wholesalers, retail chains and private label buyers.
Common options include individual polybags, recycled polybags, belly bands, gift boxes, retail boxes, barcode stickers and export cartons. The final solution depends on the robe material, folded dimensions, order quantity and presentation requirements.
A thick terry robe requires more packing volume than a lightweight waffle or satin robe. Packaging dimensions should therefore be confirmed after the robe style, fabric GSM and size range are defined—not selected only from an artwork file.
Individual Bags, Belly Bands and Retail Boxes
Individual polybags provide basic protection during handling and shipment. Buyers should specify the bag material, dimensions, thickness, closure method, warning text and ventilation requirements where applicable.
A belly band can present branding while keeping the folded robe visible. Retail or gift boxes offer stronger presentation but increase unit cost, packing time, carton volume and freight requirements.
For private label programs, packaging artwork should remain consistent with the woven labels, care labels and hangtags. These components can be coordinated through our Labels & Private Label development process.
Barcode and Product Identification
Barcode information must be supplied or approved by the buyer. Each code should correspond to the correct product style, color, size and SKU. Barcode placement may be on the individual bag, belly band, hangtag, retail box or another confirmed position.
Before printing, the buyer should check the barcode number, format, size, contrast and quiet zone around the bars. A sample scan can help identify layout or print-quality problems, but the buyer remains responsible for the accuracy and ownership of the barcode data.
When several sizes or colors are packed in one order, a clear SKU list and quantity breakdown are required. Mixing incorrect labels with otherwise acceptable garments can create warehouse and retail receiving problems.
Packaging Sample and Pre-Production Approval
For customized packaging, artwork and structural details should be approved before bulk printing. Buyers can provide an AI, EPS or print-ready PDF file together with dimensions, colors and finishing instructions.
A physical packaging sample, digital proof or pre-production photo may be used depending on the packaging type. Approval should cover artwork, color, dimensions, barcode position, folding method and the fit of the packed bathrobe.
Packaging approval is coordinated with the overall Custom OEM process. Changes made after bulk materials have been ordered may affect cost and production timing.
Export Cartons and Shipping Protection
Export-carton specifications should account for robe weight, packing volume and transport conditions. Carton dimensions, quantity per carton, gross and net weight, shipping marks and sealing method are confirmed before final packing.
Cartons should not be overloaded, especially for bulky terry and fleece bathrobes. Excess compression can affect product presentation, while oversized cartons may increase freight cost and movement during transit.
Finished packing is checked as part of Finishing & Measurement Inspection. Checks may include the correct robe, size label, barcode, individual package, carton quantity and shipping mark.
MOQ, Cost and Lead-Time Considerations
Packaging MOQ depends on the material, printing method, dimensions and supplier production minimum. A custom-printed box usually requires a higher minimum and longer preparation time than a standard polybag with a barcode sticker.
Packaging costs are affected by print colors, surface finishing, inserts, box construction and packing labor. Bulky packaging can also change the number of pieces per carton and the estimated freight volume.
Bathrobe orders generally start at approximately 300–500 pieces per style. More detailed custom packaging may require a higher quantity or a separate minimum production charge. Final requirements should be evaluated against the complete order.
